PoE and Ethernet with very long range
Coaxial cables are characterized by low attenuation, which allows data connections with a long range.
Telephone cables have higher attenuation, this limits possible cable length. To increase it, G.hn technology provides for MIMO (4-wire) operation in addition to SISO (2-wire). In this case two wire pairs (2 data channels each 2-100MHz) are used instead of one wire pair (1 channel 2-200MHz).
Our master/client modem sets for telephone cables support MIMO operation and enable Ethernet connections with a range of several hundred meters.
Power can also be transmitted via the data line.
The Master Modem (G4202TCP-RPF or G4201TR or G4201CR) is powered by local power adapter and supplies power to the G4202TCP client and connected end devices via telephone or coaxial cable.
Note. Multiple parallel connections via telephone cable are possible with our master switches. They offer automatic vectoring, also with PoE.
